We live in an age of assumed entitlement. We believe we deserve the same luxury accoutrements or privileges that others enjoy, regardless of our efforts, sweat equity, talents, or abilities. Many are living lifestyles beyond their means. The financial holes being dug may never be filled, given the increasing cost of standard necessities. The inability to distinguish between needs and wants threatens the financial stability of an entire generation.
Regardless of who you are or where you come from, you needn’t look far to see people who are scraping by each day, merely trying to get to tomorrow. The pace of today’s world, along with the general frustration levels of a never-satisfied society, and the willingness of people to blame their shortcomings on others, has created an increasing general intolerance for others and many short fuses. The solution? Ease your foot off the gas of your bulldozer for a few minutes and receive the words of this song in your heart. Imagine what each of us could do if we approached life a little differently. After all, we ARE the lucky ones!
