The Holographic Lady
Art & Lyrics
This is my cheap science-fiction movie. A guy meets a girl late one day, both walking alone on a California beach. She is a true beauty…long flowing light brown hair tucked behind one ear that is graced with an orange poppy flower. She is very mysterious… spacey and distant. He walks along with her and strikes up a light conversation in an awkward attempt at getting to know her. He eventually discerns that she lives alone in a house at the top of the cliff overlooking this beach. She is semi-warm and loosely responsive, and after a long walk, they part company. He sees her again at the beach where, day after day, they engage in these hazy, wandering conversations, and bit by bit, little by little, they strike a connection. He soon realizes that, although their simple relationship consists only of these meandering walks on the beach, he is mesmerized by her spell and thinks about her constantly. One day, to his great disappointment, she is a no-show, and he waits. He returns, day after day, but she never does. That evening, taking bold and desperate measures, he decides to call on her at her home on the cliff. He makes his way up the canyon road where, lit only by the light of the moon, he discovers an old, abandoned, empty, broken-down structure. It is completely boarded up with weathered, crisscross lumber loosely hammered over the empty window openings. There is no sign of life, and it appears to have been uninhabited for quite some time. Has he lost his mind? There, growing in the loose soil alongside the rotted porch, grew a small, straggly, orange poppy. A confused and empty man continues to walk the beach every night… hoping… mumbling to himself...

Haven’t I said too much already?! : )
