D.A.D. (Day After Day)
Art & Lyrics
My Dad lived a happy life. Despite the not-so-favorable health cards that life dealt him, he seemed to enjoy every moment. We butted heads frequently when I was younger. I learned to understand that it was because we are a lot alike. As I got older, I recognized and appreciated how fortunate I was to have him as my dad. We see our parents differently as children than we do when we become adults. I remember being at the wedding of a close friend and looking across the room to see my dad at the bar, having a beer with a group of my friends. One of my friends approached me and commented, “Hey, your dad is a cool guy,” or something along those lines. I looked around to see who he was talking to, and indeed, the comment was directed at me. “Yeah… He is, isn’t he?” I walked over to join the circle of my friends with my dad and was happy to agree that my friend was right! My Dad was a cool guy!
My Dad loved music. Not to the level I do, but he was the one who introduced me to hi-fidelity and stereo music. He loved Big Bands and the Swing Era. Here ya go, Dad. This is supposed to be the Swing Era. Hopefully, it is not a swing and a miss!

Woah, I got my Daddy!
I got that big, bad Daddy!
Oh, yes, I got my Daddy!
...standing right by my side!!!
Oh, I got my Daddy!
...and I ain't forgot my Daddy!
Oh, I got my Daddy!
C'mon, let's take a ride!!!
Day after day... Lord!
Day after day... Lord!
Day after day... Lord!
...day after day after day!
