I was reading an article one day about the old missionaries, like David Livingstone, who would travel into the darkest jungles to bring food and medicine to parts of the world that had seemed to be left behind. I wanted to create a vibe that sounded musically like what I imagined it would sound like. The story was going to be about a man who, during a global epidemic, gave up everything to travel to a remote region of Africa, bringing medicine to a people who would otherwise perish without his efforts. Entire populations were being wiped out by sickness and disease that the civilized world had already tamed. He and his people disappeared into the darkness of the jungle, bringing life-saving supplies and medicines. They would never return to civilization, but years later, the laughter of children could be heard throughout the region.
