Jonah’s Dilemma is a tension-filled instrumental built around synthesizers and guitar, inspired by the biblical story of a man trying to run from the will of God.
Jonah knows what the Lord has asked of him-but he doesn’t want to go. Instead, he chooses his own direction, boards a ship, and attempts to put distance between himself and God’s calling. But the farther he runs, the more turbulent the journey becomes.
The music reflects that struggle: apprehension, resistance, fear, and the growing realization that Jonah cannot outrun what he already knows in his heart. As the sea turns violent and the lives of the sailors around him are placed in danger, Jonah finally understands that his decision is affecting more than himself.
His dilemma reaches its breaking point. Rather than continue running, Jonah tells the sailors to throw him into the raging sea.
Jonah’s Dilemma is ultimately about that moment when our own direction collides with God’s direction-and the turmoil that can come from trying to sail against His will.
