Hit 'n' Run
Art & Lyrics
OK… this one is for the guys. This is about that girl we should have never approached... but we were too stupid to see the danger signs, warning flashers, and crime tape. After all, we are guys… evolving slowly, but not quite upright yet. She not only ran us over, but she backed up and ran over us again… just because she could! The good news is that we learned from our mistakes… that is, until the next girl we should never have dated approached us... like a rat that repeatedly goes after the electrified cheese.

Did anyone get a license? Did somebody see that train…
…come barreling out of the darkness… and leaving me in such pain?
Brave men hide in the corners. Weaker men strewn in her wake.
My love was there for the taking…. another back waiting to break!
Maybe she didn’t hear what I said,
…but “breaking the ice”, don’t mean “over my head”!
I said, Baby… you’re makin’ me crazy!
Never give into temptation. I did, I’ve got to confess!
You jump in with no contemplation… you wind up a miserable mess!
The old man says, “Better move slowly”…
Young man says, “Just bust a move”…
The wise men say, “always tread lightly”…
…but I just went with the groove!
Serves me right now to go insane.
If you play on the tracks, you’ll get hit by a train!
It’s a shame… I can’t even remember her name!
Oh, my!!!
INSTRUMENTAL BREAK
I said, Did anyone get a description? Would somebody give me a call?
She led me right out of the darkness… and head-first into a wall!
I certainly learned my lesson. Why couldn’t I have seen it before?
With this girl, you shouldn’t be messin’, but she was so hard to ignore!
I couldn’t see what the blind man saw…
…but you don’t go to jail for not breakin’ the law.
It’s a crime! You know, she ought to do time!!!
I just couldn’t see what the blind man saw…
…but you don’t go to jail for not breakin’ the law!
What’s the crime? Somebody, lend me a dime!
INSTRUMENTAL BREAK
